Everyone has permission to edit this page (even though it's in my userspace)
mainly because I wasn't sure where to put this otherwise
aka "nothing changes when I edit the file"
- Is the model/script saved? try Ctrl+S
- proof: send screenshot of entire editor window (Blockbench or Code or Notepad or whatever)
- you should do this in general if you're in a support channel
- proof: send screenshot of entire editor window (Blockbench or Code or Notepad or whatever)
- Are you pushing the big reload-looking button in the Figura menu? Don't do that
- that "selects" the avatar currently uploaded to the cloud (i.e. it deactivates your local avatar)
- to get back to the local avatar, select it in the list of avatars on the left
- it does not reload the currently selected avatar
- also, don't click the upload button either! if you don't upload and just leave the avatar on the left selected, it will automatically reload when you edit any of the files in your avatar
- when you're done making changes, you can push the upload button to let other people see the new version of your avatar
- that "selects" the avatar currently uploaded to the cloud (i.e. it deactivates your local avatar)
- While you're in the menu, double-check that you have the right avatar selected
- Are you trying to edit a model that's in a
.zip
file?- this is generally very sketchy and unlikely to work
- extract the zip file first, then edit the extracted files (double-check that you've selected the non-zip avatar in the menu)
- Is the file you're editing saving to the right place?
- Try manually selecting the save location (File → Save As... in most editors, File → Save Project As in Blockbench)
- If you use multiple instances of Minecraft (e.g. Prism Launcher, MultiMC, Curseforge, ...):
- Is the avatar you're editing in another instance's folder?
- Do you have two different copies of the 'same avatar'?
- You might want to look at the Figura Folder Location option in the Figura Settings and make it the same for all your instances
- if you change this, don't forget to move your avatars to the new avatar folder — Figura won't do it for you
